Sourdough Bakehouse

About

We believe in making great bread with just three simple and natural ingredients – organic flour, water and sea salt.

All of our bread is leavened by naturally occurring wild yeasts and contains no manufactured baker’s yeast. This is what we commonly call ‘sourdough’.

The 2 day fermentation process enhances the flavour, digestibility, nutritional value and keeping quality of all our loaves.

A loaf of bread is only as good as the grains it is made from. This is why we only use the best organic, stoneground and where possible locally produced wheat, spelt and rye flour from the following suppliers – Perry Court Farm near Canterbury, Shipton Mill in Gloucestershire, Doves Farm in Berkshire and Gilchesters Organics in Northumberland.

There are absolutely no hidden additives or dough improvers in our products.
